The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec grapes were sourced from carefully selected trellised vineyards in Stellenbosch. These low yielding vines contribute to an increased concentration of flavour in the wine.
DIRECTOR’S RESERVE 2016 TASTING NOTE:
Rich and lavish in flavour and character with plum, cassis, old leather and dried herb flavours. Plush, generous and opulent with well-managed oak-aging. Smooth and satisfying and will reward further aging for at least 10 years.
DIRECTOR’S RESERVE 2017 TASTING NOTE:
Expressive with bold plum, blackcurrant, graphite mineral notes. On the palate the layers unfold into a full-round, smoothly textured tapestry of flavours: cassis, dried tea leaves, cigar box, milk chocolate overlayed by anise and nutmeg and a well-judged tannin grip to finish. Elegant and shows its pedigree. Age 10 years+.
