Providence shone especially brightly upon us in 2017, yielding two creations that would give untold joy to all who have the privilege of encountering them. The one is this Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine of such character and integrity it was deemed worthy of being dedicated to Les Sweidan’s first-born grandson, Louis. The other is Louis himself. Abundantly gregarious and infinitely lovable, his strong character is winning hearts wherever he goes. This selection of Cabernet Sauvignon from our mountainside vineyards delivered three of our finest barrels. It is presented exclusively in a limited number of magnums for your enjoyment. Each of 2017’s two standout bestowments can be enjoyed with fine dining and equally delightful company. Both will mature exceptionally well – the one to be delightfully quaffable and the other, charmingly affable.
Made as a varietal wine, it’s an example of the 2017 in Stellenbosch at its best. Leafy, dill aromas lead you into a palate of cigar box, cassis and red berries and silky, fine-grained tannins. Superb. 2022-31 – Tim Atkin
